Hailed an “exquisitely subtle pianist” by The New York Times, Iris Hsu is a prizewinner of the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, as well as the Baltimore Music Club, Pacific Musical Society, and Ross McKee Competitions. As an active solo and chamber musician, she has performed across the United States, Canada, Holland, Finland, Italy, and Spain, at major venues including the Kennedy Center, the Embassy of Singapore in Washington, D.C., and the Mountain View Performing Arts Center in California. 

Ms. Hsu has worked with renowned pianists including Leon Fleisher, Boris Berman, Ann Schein, Menahem Pressler, Robert McDonald, Julian Martin, and Marc Durand, and performed at the International Holland Music Sessions, Banff Centre, Millennium International Piano Festival in Gijon, Zephyr International Chamber Music Festival, and Boston University Tanglewood Institute. Her collaborative artistry has given her the opportunity to perform with emminent artists such as Nicholas Kitchen (Borromeo String Quartet), Keng-Yuen Tseng, and Julia Yang (Merz Trio). In recent summers, she has served as collaborative faculty at the Heifetz International Music Institute in Virginia since 2019 and the Conservatory Audition Workshop in Vermont since 2018.

Ms. Hsu received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University with Boris Slutsky, and holds a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Juilliard School, where she studied with Matti Raekallio. While at Juilliard, she was awarded a teaching fellowship to serve as faculty in the piano minor department. From 2016-2020, she served as staff pianist for the New England Conservatory of Music, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and the Walnut Hill School for the Arts. A native of California, Ms. Hsu studied with Li-shan Hung during her formative years, and now resides in Los Angeles, California.
